For the Mirage team, environmental integrity means using our raw material—wood—and other natural resources carefully and innovatively to safeguard our ecosystems and maintain biodiversity.
To this end, we have put in place a number of measures over the years.
- Wood and waste recycling
- Forest preservation
- Reduced consumption
- Inclusion of raw materials made from postindustrial waste
- Use of renewable energy sources [wind, boiler]
- Support for Ducks Unlimited
- Rigorous selection of responsible suppliers
- Over 90% of our purchased volume of domestic species comes from sawmills within 500 miles (800 km) of our plant to minimize greenhouse gas emissions.
- Use of VOC and formaldehyde free finishes
- Compliance with CARB 93120 certification standards to reduce air pollution caused by chemicals
- Compliance with the Lacey Act to protect against illegal forest practices and trade in forest products
- All Mirage Lock and Mirage Engineered products in Oak, Maple, and Yellow Birch are eligible for FSC Mixed Source certification
- Contribution to sustainable forest development with its PEFC [Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification] certification
We have been recognized for our ongoing commitment to sustainable development.
