The Look of Beech

Beech has a close grain, which gives it a fine and even texture. Color variation between boards is moderate to wide. Beech shows minimal color variation when exposed to intense light. To keep it looking beautiful, Mirage applys a UV protector at the finishing stage.

The sapwood of beech is white with a reddish cast, while the heartwood ranges from pale to dark reddish brown.

Beech: Natural splendor in your home!

The Facts on Beech

American Beech is found in southeastern Canada and in the eastern United States from Maine to northern Florida. Thick, rich, moist soils with good drainage are best for its growth. American Beech can attain a height of 120 ft. [37 m] and a diameter of approximately 4 ft. [1.2 m].

Marks, scratches, and imperfections are more noticeable on beech because of its hardness and close, even grain. The coarser grain of oak and ash hides marks better. A matte finish will help make marks less noticeable.
